“Women were not viewed as an integral part of the historical record. The vast majority remained silent and invisible, their history subsumed under general descriptions of men’s lives.”

ABOUT 10_WOMEN
Celebrating 10 historic women who impacted Cincinnati
10 ___ Women celebrates a “first class” of 10 historic women who made an impact on Cincinnati. A few names will be familiar to some, but most are women who are not a part of our collective memories...but should be! The “___” is meant to be a placeholder for an apt descriptor that distinguishes and unites each class. These women are creative, persistent, subversive, and plucky. Complicated, certainly...and definitely kick-ass.
Class 2 is in the works, with 6 women pre-selected, and 4 more to be determined. We have a strong slate of candidates...all are deserving, but we are seeking an ecclectic mix.
The initial project was funded by a grant from Peoples Liberty.
We will be crowdfunding support for Class 2. More details to come!
